Submissions

In 2-4 minutes, describe your research and motivation to perform scientific research. Your video should address the following three questions: 1) how did you first get involved in scientific research, 2) what is your research, and 3) what is the "take home message" you want people to remember. You should not use any props, blackboards, or video animations. You may upload your video files to our Dropbox.  Make sure that the file name of your video includes your name, institution, and science category.

Your videos will then be posted publicly on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Finalists will be chosen based on their number of combined Likes, Favorites, and Retweets. Three finalists will be chosen from each category. One winner from each category will then be chosen by a committee of SciComm Hub and Hamed Mirzaei Foundation organizers. Winners will be notified by e-mail, and will be sent a $100 check or gift card. They will also be featured on the SciComm Hub and Hamed Mirzae Foundation websites.

Tips

Be clear and concise, keep the jargon to a minimum, and remember to highlight all the things you find cool about your work! Don't use any fancy animations or visual aids - just explain your research in words as best you can.

If you don't know where to start, here's a guide with some suggestions!

Please feel free to download our poster and distribute it at your college or university!

Note: By participating you relinquish any and all rights of the video to “SciComm Hub” and “Hamed Mirzaei Foundation”. Submitted videos may be used for promotion or any other use as seen fit by “SciComm Hub” and “Hamed Mirzaei Foundation”.
